Vibrant public spaces define great cities. Beaches, plazas, parks, greenways - together these spaces facilitate community connection, collaboration, and creativity. They are also the ground upon which civic participation, cultural innovation, and community economic growth can occur.
Throughout 2017, Orange Pulp was tasked to document the City of Vancouver's public engagement campaign - Places for People Downtown - an initiative that would help develop an overall strategy on how to shape public spaces in Downtown Vancouver for the next 30 years to come.
In partnership with Gehl Architects, the campaign was Vancouver's most comprehensive public life study, supported by over 250 community volunteers. The study also included a stakeholders dialogue at the Vancouver Art Gallery attended by come of the city’s most active community changemakers.
